Setting Sail

In this boat made of wood, throwing around the possibilities of what could

Have been. Looking at these skies of grey, wondering where you could be at today.

The waves ripple back and forth towards the shore. Wearing my hoodie, keeping my core

Warm in this cold breeze. You used to wear it and it brought me to my knees.

Memories flash in my brain like the flash of a camera. I didn’t think I could bare a

Heartbreak again but you proved me wrong. Our ship sailed off into the distance strong.

We separate knowing that’s what’s best. Holding onto the wires of friendship to our chest.
